MILK CONSUMPTION.
LOW IN AUSTRALIA. Dairy statistics released by the Commonwealth Statistician disclose that the average consumption of milk, a head of population in Australia is only about lOoz a day. About 13.8 per cent of Australia's milk production is used in its .natural form for human consumption and other purposes. Of the average consumption in the last recorded five years— 1,150,000,000 gallons—79.s per cent was used to make butter, 4.2 per cent for cheese, and 2.5 per cent for condensed and powdered milk.
