FIRST BALLOT.
FOR TERRITORIALS. ~~~ ——■~ — *" t DRAWN MEN'S POSITION. WELLINGTON, this day. Men who are drawn in the ballot for territorial service, which will begin tomorrow, and who are passed as medically fit and are not exempted will be expected to go into camp immediately, according to an announcement made today by the Hon. R. .Semple, Minister of National Service. He also emphasised the fact that men selected for territorial service in the ballot this week will not be exempt from service overseas at a later date, and will be included in future ballots for overseas service. The number of men registered in the first division of the General Reserve, added the Minister, was approximately 93.000. J Asked whether there was likely to be a-nother ballot before Christmas, Mr. Semple said this would be entirely governed by circumstances, but if another ballot was necessary adequate notice would be given those called up — (Press Assn.)
