ANTI-TANK GUNS.

AUSTRALIAN MANUFACTURE. ADELAIDE, Sept. 19. Two-pounder anti-tank field guns of the type which assisted to cover the evacuation of British troops from Dunkirk are being manufactured in South Australia and other States. The British model is being reproduced here with minor variations to suit Australian conditions. This is the first time such requirements have been made in Australia outside the Government armament factories. A big production of shells, bombs, mines, grenades and other munition supplies is being built up bv scorej °f other industrial plants. With two new Government munition factories costing about £0,000.U00, these develop ment 6 cap a period of indus'.rial development which has converted what formerly was almost wholly a prima: - producing State into a hive of secondary industry.
