CYCLING.
.Twenty-six riders, of whom 12 finished, competed at the second open road race, to Paeroa and back, a distance of approximately SO miles, conducted by the Morrinsville Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club on Saturday afternoon. Riders were present from Auckland, Hamilton, Te Kuiti, Matamata and Morrinsville. A large crowd assembled to watch the exciting finish as five riders sprinted together on the downhill straight. Page (Te Kuiti) and R. Hampshire (Morrinsville) drew out a little, and the former went on to win by a length from Hampshire, with ,N. J. Barlow two lengths away, and O'Shaughnessy half a wheel away, fourti.. Major places and actual times were as follows:— Page (10m), 3h 31m 355, 1; R. Hampshire (3m), 2h 24m 35 1-Ss, 2; N. J. Barlow (Morrinsville, 10m); 2h 31m 365, 3; O'Shaughnessy (Manukau, sm). 2h 26m 36 2-ss. 4; Bunting (Hamilton, 20m). Jh 42m 475, 5; L. Pittams (Morrinsville. sm). 2h 30m 255, 6. Fastest time was won by R. Hampshire, and fastest Junior by L. Pittanu.
