SINGAPORE BASE.

Joint Use By Britain And America. INFORMATION EXCHANGED. (Reed. 2 p.m.) NEW \ORIv. Sept. 20. The United States Secretary of State. Mr. Gordell Hull, said lie discussed with Mr. R. G. Casey. Australian Minister to Washington, and the British Ambassador, the Marquis of Lothian, during their recent talks, the question of joint use of the Singapore base, but he stressed that Singapore was only mentioned casually among many other subjects in a broad exchange of information.

Mr. Hull said the purpose of the talks was a full exchange of the views of the respective nations on the international situation, and they were not held with a view to negotiations.
