High Spots
THE afternoon frock that can be worn for dinner often has the new ; bloused effect achieved by drapery or capeline over a rather high corselet waist. The top or "blouse" is of white, and the skirt of navy or black in many smart ensembles. Sleeves are long and gracefully draped also. Jersey can be used for these useful gowns or matt silk crepe. «A dark Breton straw hat with a note of white frequently completes the outfit, the straw hat and also gloves and bag being of the same dark colour as the skirt." ■. V ■ . . Some black dinnej ensembles have silk sweaters and turbans to match. The swathed turbans that mount up fairly high with striped swathing at the base look very Eastern. Some have a tassel trimming. For day wear the skirt that has a v oke, sometimes corresponding with that cf the coat, makes a smart suit. Lots of fresh, summery white is worn With the dark suit, jabots or embroidered muslin frills on blouse necks. Some waistcoats are made entirely of crisp, white frills. Dainty novelties still appear as fastening New note: White lacquered safety pins instead of buttons on linen suits and dresses.
