TROUBLE ON SHIP.

SEAMAN ARRESTED. POLICE OBTAIN REMAND. Following a disturbance on a ship lying at Prince's wharf about 4.30 this morning, one member of the crew was taken to hospital with two cuts on his head while another was arrested by Constable Whisker on a charge of assault.

It is alleged that Arthur Foster, engineer storekeeper, was struck on the head with a spanner. After haying five stitches inserted in one of the cuts on his head he was able to return to his ship.

Later, Patrick John Lydon, aged 27, a seaman, appeared in the Police Court before two justices chaTged with assaulting Arthur Foster.

Stating that the police desired to make further inquiries, Sub-Inspector Calwell obtained a remand until Tuesday next.
