KILLED IN TUNNEL.
STRUCK BY LOCOMOTIVE. \ WAIKAREMOANA FATALITY. WATROA, this day. The lower hydro-electric development scheme at Piripaua, Waikaremoana, was the scene of another distressing fatality at an early hour this morning. The victim was Mr. Charles Storey, a married man, who was engaged on the construction of the tunnel. Mr. Storey lived with his wife at Piripaua and has one son who is attending the Wanganui Technical College.
The accident occurred about 12.45 a.m. Mr. Storey wae in charge of the; concreting operations in the tunnel. Although no one saw the accident, it appears that he stepped in tront of a locomotive, which was engaged in drawing trucks of concrete from the tunnel i mouth to the face where concreting) operations were in progress.
