Monetary gold stocks In the United States at the beginning ol this month reached 21,000,000,000 dollars—a new record—representing 70 per cent of the world's monetary supply, and this Is again focusing attention on the unsolved "gold problem." The Federal reserve system's excess reserves now total 6.490,000,000 dollars. and re-emphasise the danger of an inflationary eSect.
