OBITUARY.

MR. ALBERT CLARK The death has occurred in Auckland of Mr. Albert Clark at the age of 63 years. Mr. Clark was born at Pollok, near Waiiiku. and ha a young man was engaged in the timber trade. He later joined the police force, serving at Auckland, Rotorua and Aratapu, retiring after 17 years' service. For some years Mr. Clark managed hotels in Taranaki, Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa, and in 1935 joined the staff of the Department of Internal Affairs in Auckland. He was a member of the Hobson Freemasons' Lodge and a chapter of the Royal Arch of the same craft. He is survived by his wife and two daughters. MR. A. TRINDER. Advice has been received of the death in London of Mr. Arnold Trinder, a director of the New Zealand Shipping Company, Limited. Mr. Trinder, who was aged about 65 years, was a principal of Trinder, Anderson and Company, Leadenhall Street, manager* of the Kaikoura and four other of the New Zealand Shipping Company's smaller motor-ships, as well as of the Australian Steam Shipping Compai*y, Limited, which operates the motor-ships Australind and Armadale. MRS. ANNE deCALMER. J The death has occurred of Mrs. Anne deCalmer, aged 91, at her residence. 17, Edwin Street, Mount Eden. Mrs. deCalmer went to Australia with her husband, the late Mr. J. deCalmer, and family, from Blackvvall, London, in the sailing ship South Esk in 1877. In 1901 they left Australia for New Zc«* land in the s.s. Mararoa. Mr. deCalmer died 14 years ago. Mr*. deCalmer had lived in Auckland since her arrival here and had seen many material changes. She is survived by six children, four of whom reside in Auckland, and two in Sydney, Australia. There are also a number of grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
