MISS E. M. NUTSEY.

APPRECIATION OF SERVICE.

In appreciation of the splendid record of service given by Miss E. M. Nutsey, lady superintendent of the Auckland Hospital, a presentation was made her by membero of the Auckland Hospital Auxiliary at the annual meeting yeeterday. Miss Nutsey has ibeen appointed matron-in-chief of the. New Zealand Army Nursing Service overseas, and will leave later in the year to take up her appointment.

The president, Mrs. A. D. Campbell, in presenting Miss Nutsey with a handbag. and a bouquet on behalf of the -auxiliary, said that in giving Miee Nut■sey ftne appointment a very wi&e choice had been made.

Tributes to Miss Nutsey were paid by Lady Davis, patroness of the auxiliary, and Dr. Kenneth Gordon, who had been associated with her at the Walton-on-Thamee Hospital, where she had earned the highest respect of the medical officers and the staff. Mr. William Wallace, a former chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board, also expressed appreciation of Miss Nutsey's valuable experience and organising ability. On behalf of the Hospital Board, Mrs. M. M. Dreaver conveyed the best wishes of the members.

In thanking the members for their good wishes and their gifts, Miss Nutsey said that ehe felt it a very great honour to'have been chosen for the position of jnatron-in-chief of the New Zealand Nursing Service overseas. She went on to epeak of the tremendous growth of the auxiliary since she had taken up her position at the Auckland Hospital 10 years ago, and said that she could not express sufficiently her appreciation of its work, especially the work of the sewing circle. She concluded by saying that she was proud of having been trained at the Auckland Hospital and felt , happy; that, the good wishes and the help of the women of Auckland and of the members «f the auxiliary would go with her, '■ ; i
