TAILORS' DISPUTE.
MORE PAT SOUGHT. The Auckland tailore , industrial dispute occupied the Court of Arbitration yesterday, when the union claimed an increase in the men's weekly wage from £5 2/6 to £3 10/, with an extra 5/ if in charge of an apprentice. A rise in the piecework rate from 1/7| per hour to 1/10 per hour was aleo claimed, as well as the ' inclusion of Anniversary Day as a special holiday with pay, and two weeks' annual holiday on full pay instead of one week.
Mr. W. S. Moxsom appeared for the workers, and Mr. W. E. Anderson for the employers.
After evidence had been led for the union, Mr. Anderson applied to have the interpretation of the worker affected changed to distinguish Ibetween tailormade and chart-made euite, ae the workere for the latter came under the clothing workers' award.
The case is proceeding.
