TROPHT GAME THIS WEEK — ROSE BOWL SEPT. 28 ?
The grounds and fixtures committee of the Auckland Football Association
reported to last night's meeting of the control board that three more Saturdays would be needed to finalise the championship and Falcon Cup competitions, and October 10 would be a suitable date for a visit from Wellington.
It was thought that this date would be too late in the season lor a representative match, and the board resolved to suggest September 28 as !he date for the Campbell Rose Bowl fixture to the Wellington Association.
Advice was received that the Canterbury. team to play Auckland for the EnQUsh Trophy at Blandford Park on Saturday wcajfc arrive by the first express to-morrow morninfl The team will be quartered at the Thistle HoteT. and the secretary (Mr. W. Harrison) reported that it would be the guests of the Plaza Theatre management in the evening. Mr. J. V. White was appointed to look after the interests of the visitors. The primary schools' division reported that the Fordham Shield and Balfour Irvine Cup would be presented at the conclusion of the second primary schools , game at Blandford Park next Saturday, and the chairman of the \»ard, Mr. L. Munro, intimated his willingness to do this. The division also reported that a match had been arranged between the A and B representative teams to take place at Blandford Park on September 28. The board agreed to assist in every \ direction.
