RECORD GOLD PRICE.

(Ree. 1.30 p.m.) - SYDNEY, this day. , A record Australian net gold price of £lo 14/ per line ounce le announced by the Commonwealth Bank.

WOOL FIXTURES MADE. APPRAISEMENT DATES. The Auckland Woolbrokcrs' Association announces that the first wool appraisement will commence on November 14, and in Auckland subsequent appraisements will commence on December 5, January 26, February 28 and April 1. The dates are subject to alteration. .Statements have been made recently by the Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. W. Lee Martin, and -Mr. 11. JM. Christie, chairman of the New Zealand Wool Council, informing growers that certain alterations have been made in the range of wool values for the coming season. Notification of these changes has been received by the Auckland Woolbrokcrs' Association. They include a slight alteration to all grades of fleece wool, the effect of which will be that skirted wools will be appraised appreciably above unskivted wools. This change, together with an increase in some grades of bellies and pieces over last season's prices, will fully compensate growers who skirt their clips efficiently. Wool will not be considered fully skirted if the bellies only are removed, although clips so treated will have an advantage over those clips where the bellies have not been removed, and growers should see that all dirty and fribby points are taken off, and to ensure the fleece being free from a stained and inferior wool. It is impossible to remove all seed from seed fleece wool, but the collar and heavy seedy points should be removed as well.
