ANOMALY DISCLOSED.

MARIWE'CIfGIinBERS' PAT. Judgment was given by the Arbitration Court to-day on an application to amend the district marine engine drivers' award bo as to increase the payment of engineers on high-powered motor ships in conformity with the pay to engineers on such ships of lower power. On the principle laid down that the Court could not delete from or insert anything in an award except for the purpose of giving effect to the Court's original intention, it was held that there was no power to alter the payment clause as requested. An anomaly had been disclosed, which should be given consideration when * new award was made.
