Activities Closely Watched By State Department. MR. HULL'S STATEMENT. (Reed. 2 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Sept. 17. The United States Secretary of State, Mr. Cordell Hull, indicated that the State Department may take disciplinary action against von Spiegel, German Consul of New Orleans. He said the Department was paying close attention to von Spiegel's past and present activities.
