TRIBUTE PAID.
BRITISH MINISTER. Dominions' Contribution To I War Effort. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Reed. 2 p.m.) LOXDOX, Sept. 17. The Dominions Secretary, Viscount Caldecote, in the House of Lords, said that the inclusion of almost the whole of Europe in the war zone had deprived the Dominions of .many valuable markets. "I must pay tribute to the Dominion* for their iiii<-elli<=ii readiness to modify their plans and organisation to meet the needs of the United Kingdom, though it may be to the prejudice of their wealth," he said. "It must not be thought that the contribution of the Dominions is achieved without stress or strain, or that they are enjoying benefits without corresponding financial sacrifice. Each has freely made the largest expenditure in resolute support of the common cause. '•This has undoubtedly imposed a great and increasing burden on their budgets, involving the. people in many sacrifices, but these are met without complaining and, indeed, with enthusiasm.''
