HOME SERVICE.
One of the moat neglected and the most urgent needs even in times of peace, more urgent and more necessary now, is for the services of expert trained shorthand typists with a working knowledge of simple double-entry bookkeeping. There is a great shortage of. efficiently-trained juniors. There are quite a number of inefficient juniors available, girls who can, or think they can, take moderate rate dictation, but who in /actual practice have to rewrite, rub out or alter every letter they type, bnt efficient juniors are not obtainable. Then there is the question of girls who do not need or desire to become shorthand typists from a commercial point of Tiew, but are anxious, really anxious, to help various voluntary organisation*, with the highest intentions and notions, but their lack of .efficient training as shorthand typists renders their services in this particular section of voluntary work of little use. I suggest that it would be a real home service job for them to do as many others in other spheres of the work, first aid, etc.. secure training. - CITIZENS.",.
