INDUSTRIALS IN DEMAND. GOVERNMENT STOCKS OFFERED. A strong tone in nearly all sections was evident on the Auckland Stock Exchange to-day, but business was restricted. Broken Hill Proprietaries gained 3d, with buyers still in at the new price, and Auckland Gas showed an improvement, with inquiries at 8/3. Bank of New Zealand* had a firm market between £2 2/4 and £2 2/9. Jlore Government bonds and stocks weie on offer at noon, with holders keener to do business.
