DEMOCRATIC LABOUR.
ELECTION PROPOSAL 80 CANDIDATES IN FIELD. PALMERSTON NORTH, Tuesday. There were few seats wacant in the Opera House to-night when Mr. J. A. Lee, M.P., gave his first address in Palmerston North on behalf of the Democratic Labour party. He stated that at the next general election they would have 80 candidates in the field. There were now 37 branches, and 18 more were in process of formation. By the end of the year there would be at least 100 branches. Mr. Lee said that everywhere ardent supporters of the Labour party were flocking to the new banner and never before had New Zealand seen such rapid political progress. The meeting passed a motion endorsing the principles of the new party.
