INJURED ON LIGHTER.

DEATH OF WATERSIDER. Injured when working on a lighter at the Central Wharf on August 9, Walter Robert McMahon, wharf labourer, died on Saturday at the Auckland Hospital. Deceased was a married man, aged 53, and lived at 93, Franklin Road. When working on the lighter deceased was struck on the leg by one of a load of boxes. He was later taken to the hospital and died on Saturday. Evidence was given yesterday by Dr. W. Gilmour, who made a post-mortem, that the cause of death was venous thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, and a verdict was returned accordingly
