NEW AWARD.

TANNERS AND SOAP-WORKERS The Court of Arbitration has made a new award for the Auckland Fellmongers, Tanners and Soap Workers' Union providing wages for youths ranging from £1 to, £3 10/ a week, for girls ranging from 17/6 to £2 10/ a week, and for adult male workers at 2/4 per hour for a week of 40 hours in five days. Male workers in control of five or more male hands in charge of processes are to be paid 1/ per day extra. These rates, are subject to the provisions of the general order granting a 5 per cent increase. Eight davs* holiday on full pay are provided for." The award includes in its scope the Northern, Wellington, Canterbury, Otago and Southland soap workers, and will operate as to wages from June 17 last, and until June 17 of next year.
