Overseas League Drama Circle.— Several members of the junior branch /wade their premiere sippearance in a one-act play by Miss Joyce Fleming, of Auckland, who also wrote another play «rhich was presented during the evening. Mrs. Carte-Lloyd assisted Mrs. V. Bosworth with the production. The league also gave a reception, to the Misses Joan and Betty Kayner. • • • • . Mothers , Club, Y.W.C.A.—The president, Mrs. Sharp, presided at the weekly meeting. The speaker was Mrs. Kealy, who gave a talk on "Nazi Rule." Tea hostesses were Meedames Leity and Winstanley. • * * * New Zealanders and Pioneers.—The monthly afternoon meeting was held in the Fabian Club rooms. A talk on the club was. given by the president, Mrs. Johnston, and Miss Foster gave a talk about the pioneers. A display of gowns of the period 1828 to 1835 was given by Miss Spicer. Numerous items were rendered. • . * * * Devon and Cornwall Club.—A most enjoyable evening was spent in the Fabian Club rooms when the club's fourth birthday party was. celebrated. The birthday cake, which was presented by members of the Cantwell family, was cut by Mrs. L. Harvey, the president's wife. During the evening a presentation was made "to Gunner J. Cantwell. A programme of items was given. • • • • Western Springs Women. —An enjoyable afternoon was sepnt at the monthly meeting. The speaker for the day was Mrs. Kerr, who gave a talk on air raid precautions. • • • • P. and T. Women. —The monthly meeting was held in the New Women's Club rooms, Mrs. H. Clark presiding. The speaker for the evening was Mies Irene Rutherford, who gave a talk on "Astrology."
