SUCCESS AT ASHBURTON. SPRING TO ROT BUN. ASHBURTOX, Saturday. The Ashburton County Racing Club's spring meeting was held to-day in fine, but windy, weather. There was a very large attendance and the course was in excellent order. The totalisator handled £18,094 10/, against £11,942 10/ last year, an increase of £6152. The judicial committee decided that Whiphand, ridden by C. T. Wilson, had been interfered with in the Novice Stakes by Jolly Time, whose rider, B. H. Brodie, was severely reprimanded. R. Pentecost, trainer of Jolly Time, was warned as to the horse's habit of running about, and advised that, if there was no improvement. Jolly Time would be recommended for the schooling list.
