DIET AND THE DOLE.
| I Was' very amused at your correspondent who signs himself "Digger on the Dole." Ho Buys 11/5 i* too much for two weeks' milk (Joes lie live on a diet where milk is the most prominent parts). How doep he work out 2/8 for that period, as with milk 3}d a pint that give.? him nine or ten days at the most. Whn t a'iout the other four or live days? Does he go without or does he live on O.P.'s (other people's)"! Where can lie find a house that is as sound and 'private as we have for 15/ weekly, ns I wish he would find me one, or perhaps lie lives in a tent? Meat at 1.1/2 for two weeks is too much. Where can lie get. meat that will only cuf.t 5/8, but 'i-eing he is on the dole' h> ha.; his given to him most likely. Viriug at 11/ l is too much, again according to him Does ho keep hot water bottles for heating purposes or again is that where O.P.'s fires come in? In any case, I wish he would give mc some hints, as lie is such a smart person in the running of a home, particularly in tho grocery, meat and milk line." He also says we could do \vlthout 'bread? What would ho use in place, of it? Will ho say if he Is a married or single person, |what family he lia<> (mine when all j home are live, including my husband nnd myself), and how much lie get* for two weeks from the dole, as my £« 10/ was for that period? PORTER'S WIFE.
