OVER AGAIN.
GERMAN 'PLANES. Further Attacks On London Yesterday. United Press Association.—Copyright. (Reed. 1 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 12. Sirens sounded in London for the first time to-day at 4.39 p.m. 'Planes were heard over the city, but no gunfire. The all clear was sounded at 5.42 p.m. The sirens sounded for the second time at 9.17 p.m. Londoners heard the sixth consecutive :iight air raid warning shortly after 0 p.iu., says a British oflicial wireless message. A heavy barrage immediately began from anti-aircraft guns, while a few searchlights could be seen.
Although the warning was still in operation at 11.30 p.m.. the barrage was not consistently heavy and was obviously being bold in reserve for a successive effort to penetrate by enemv machines. During the air raid this afternoon, somo isolated bombs fell in two districts on the outskirts of the London area. Shortly after the warning bad been sounded two bombers dived through the clouds, but t'le balloon barrage compelled the raiders to again climb into the clouds. They unsuccessfully attempted to Im)iiil> the gasworks. It can now be revealed that the places damaged in recent raids include the Church of St. John the Evangelist, in Westminster, also Regent Street and buildings near the Bank of Knglaiid. Fivo rescuers were killed when a time-bomb exploded near a school in east London in which hundreds were ' trapped. | Romo radio stated that one of the German generals directing the offensive againet Britain participated in vester-' day's raids over London. His * 'plane was hit but safely landed in Franc*. '
