VITAL GAME IN SENIOR SOCCER CHAMPIONSHIP.

I To-morrow at Blandford Park Comrades will tackle Mount Albert Grammar Old Boys, who have a three-point lead in the 1040 Auckland Soccer championship. The latter club has, however, played one match more than Comrades, who drew with Old Boys in the first round and beat them 3—l, on July 20, in the Auckland city final of the Chatham Cup. Victory for Mount Albert to-morrow would make that XI. champion for the season. Another senior contest has been arranged as the curtain-raiser to-morrow, Abels playing Ponsonby. The other two fixtures are:—Thistle v. Eastern Suburbs at St. Heller's, and Onehunga v. Y.M.C.A., at Wai&araka Park. This second game will mark the final appearance in club iootball of Nigel Bennett, the Y.M.C.A. centre who has been a prolific scorer in his two years in Auckland. He leaves presently on return to his native England. Elevens announced for to-morrow: — Comrades.—Yearbury, McKenna. Healy, Fincham Matthews, Evans, Francis. Walters, Francis Masters.
