GALLAHER SHIELD.
TWO MATCHES ON NO. 1 EDEN PARK. The Auckland Rugby senior championship will be continued to-morrow despite the absence of 19 players with the Auckland representative team in Wellington. In the main game at Eden Park, North bhore, who recently had a big victory over Grafton three weeks ago, will be fitted against the spectacular Suburbs The curtain-raiser will be provided by Technical Old Boys and Training College. Marist, one of the three leading teams in the Shield (the others are Suburbs and the recently promoted Takapuna side), visits Sturges Park, and although half a dozen of the "double blues are away at Wellington, the club is certain to make strenuous efforts to avenge its first round defeat by Otahuhu. The latter has one man in the representative XV. (Priest), but. of course is minus the services these days of its two cracks, Hedge and Moyle. Takapuna will be having its first game on the home field (Taharoto Park) since promotion the opposition to-morrow being 'Varsity, which club also came up from the second division aftei the opening round of the Gallaher Shield.
