BETTER PRICE WANTED. CITRUS GROWERS' VIEW. While stressing that the most urgent need of the citrus growers is for a better price for their product—one that will meet the cost of production—the committee of the Kerikeri Citrus Society, Bay of Islands, at a meeting held this week passed a motion approving the present control of marketing. The resolution, which was carried unanimously, was as follows: — "That while the price paid for lemons by the Government does not meet the cost of production—and it must be obvious that no industry can continue to live and not receive production costs—the present control of marketing receives the endorsement of this committee. ''Much good work has been done in the standardisation of the curing,- and the limiting of the profits of retailers when fully effective 1 should be to the advantage of both the producer and consumer. "While the scheme has been in operation for 15 months, the main difficulties encountered by the Internal Marketing Division in shed operation have been overcome. However, there remain several points that require adjustment, and the main cause for dissatisfaction will con(ijiue until the price is put on an economic basis.'"'
