HIGHER WAGES.

RISE SHOULD BE GENERAL. HOSPITAL BOARD'S DECISION. HAMILTON, this day. A decision to increase the wages of all employees of the board by 5 per cent was reached at a meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board to-day. The board was of the opinion that if one section of the community was to receive compensatio'n for the increased cost of living, it wae only fair that other sections should also have the benefit of the rise. The decision will cost the board £4154 a year. A resolution protesting to the Government against the principle of continually increasing wages, and therefore costs, was also carried.
