At a special Meeting of the Council of the Borough of Takapuna, held on the 7th day of August, 1940, the following Resolution was duly passed:— "That the Takapuna Borough 'Council, acting in pursuance of the powers conferred upon it by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933. and Section 41 of the Finance Act, 1931 (No. 2), and all other powers and authorities it in any way enabling, doth hereby make by way of Special Order the following By-law In the words of the draft submitted to this meeting. Intituled the Takapuna Borough Building Bylaw, 1940 (parts 1.-VI. New Zealand Standard Code), to come into operation on the first day of Octobcr, 1940. and that this resolution be submitted for confirmation at a meeting of the Council to be held in the Council Chambers, Lake Road, Takapuna, on WEDNESDAY, 18th September, 1940, at 7.15 p.m." The object and purport of the proposed By-law are to amend and extend the Takapuna Borough By-laws, No. 2 (1915) and No. 8 (1921), by adopting the New Zealand Standard Code of Building By-laws, Parts 1.-VI.
