WARNING SHOT FIRED. WELLnreTOST, Tuesday. £omo weeks ago Chaffer's Passage and adjoining- waters were gazetted.closed to shipping, including email craft. Recently, apparently in ignorance, a fisherman ventured into the affected area. To warn him he was not allowed there a T>urst from a Lewis gun was fired in his vicinity, not, however, where there was any likelihood of hitting him. He thereupon shifted out of that area. No other action has been taken, although it is understood the police have power to prosecute for a breach of the regulations. (Press Assn.)
