HOME GUARD UNITS.
FORMATION IN NORTH. WHANG AREI, this day. Steps to further the establishment of Home Guard unite in North Auckland were taken last night, when a meetingwas held of the provincial committee set up at the recent conference. Working on similar lines to' the centennial and patriotic organisation, the committee zoned Northland into seven subareas. Each sub-area is to be invited to establish committees. The Minister of Manpower is to foe invited to send thfl Dominion organiser through the Northland district. It was announced that several Home Guard units had already been formed in Whangarei county. Ad\4co was received that an informative circular and enrolment forms are to be forwarded from Wellington ■within the ant week or ten days.
