AEROPLANE FUND.

APIA. August 30. The drive for £5000 for the purchase of an aeroplane for the Royal Air Force is proceeding successfully. The civil servants of Western Samoa have undertaken to raise £1000 as their share of the fund. The fund now stands at £864 5/6 and civil servants have raised so far an additional £467 16/6, making a total of £1332 2/ raised so far. Native Sa moans have so far not j organised their collections, and the Fono .of Faipule, the native Parliament, now in session is expected to arrange for a natjve participation in the drive.
