SPEEDING UP.
TRAMWAY EXTENSIONS.
DISSATISFACTION WITH PROGRESS. Point Chevalier and Dominion Road tramway extensions are not being pushed on fast enough, in the opinion of Mr. G? Baildon and Mr. M. J. Coyle members of the Auckland Transport Board. "At the rate the work is being done it will be five years before the extensions are completed," said Mr. Coyle at a meeting of the board this morning. Mr. Baildon said it had been his an ention also to draw the board's attention to the slow rate of progress. The tramway manager, Mr._ A. &. *ora, said that everything was being done to Mr. XttAß-, ■*« that sleepers were due on October 10, and the board's work would be put in hand almost immediately, as far as layin" out the materials was concerned. "You will have to light a fire under these people in the trenches," commented Mr. Baildon.
