OPENING DAY EVENTS. SYDNEY, September 29. The cricket season was opened in Australia yesterday. In the first grade matches, playing for St. George against Glebe, Don Bradman made 148 not out and Fairfax 46. For Petersham against Northern Districts, Tommy Andrews scored 102. Bowling for Western Suburbs against North Sydney, Dupain took seven wickets for 27. For Gordon against Manlv, Macartney took five for 30. At Brisbane Ron Oxenliam bowled the whole of the Northern Suburbs' He took the ten wickets for 32 runs.
