American Woman Meets Death In Crash. FALL FROM 2000 FT. (United Service.) (Received 10 a.m.) NEW YORK, September 29. A message from Abilene, Texas, states that Josephine Callaghan, America's only armless aviatrix, was killed in a crash while flying alone. She operated special controls by her feet and fearlessly flew thousands of miles. The machine nosedived at 2000 feet.
