SUNDAY SCHOOL RALLY.

At the annual rally of Sunday school children held in the Town Hall on Saturday evening, there was a large gathering representing nearly 60 schools. The gathering was under the direction of the Sunday School Union. The Rev. F. A. Thompson, president of the union, presented the shields won by schools whose pupils had done particularly well in the recent Scripture examinations, and Mrs. Thompson presented the book prizes. Musical and other items were much enjoyed. Included among the performers were the pupils of the Manurewa Home and the Grange Salvation Army Orphange, who went through some drill exercises in a very capable manner. The tin whistle band of little boys from the Manurewa Home was very popular. Other schools, whose pupils contributed to a very good programme, w.ere Devonport Congregational, St. John's Methodist, Ponsonby, and the Waterview Methodist.
