PIGEON FLYING.

POINT CHEVALIER CLUB. The Chevalier Homing Club continueu their old bird racing from Oliakune, an air-line distance of 183 miles. The "birds were liberated at 9.15 a.m. and, after an exceptionally fast fly, the winning bird arrived at Mr. L. Cantell's loft at 12.30 p.m. The velocity was 1656 yards per minute, breaking all previous club records. Results: — Mr. L. Cantell's rec Sandstar, 1656 yds per minute 1 Messrs. NORTH SHORE CLUB. The North Shore Club flew a race from Taumarunui,- an air-line distance of 144 miles. The birds were liberated by Mr. Arthur, the stationmaster, at 10.30 a.m., In fine , 'weather, and, after Hying for 2 hours 4u minutes, Mr. Olliver's b c h Glideaway proved the winner, credited with a velocity of "1567 yards per minute, being another record for the club from this race point. The Avalon Club flew their yearling championship race from Palmerston North an airline distance of 200 miles. After flying for nearly five hours Messrs. The Cornwall Club flew a race from Paekakariki under ideal flying conditions, a fast and close fly resulting in Mr. J.
