DEVONPORT ORPHANS' LADIES , NIGHT.
Perhaps the most eucceSsful ladies' night the Devonport Orphans' Club has ever held, took place oil Saturday evening. The Parish Hall was gaily decorated. The Mayor, Mr. E. Aldridge, who is also president of the club, welcomed the visitors, mentioning specially Mr. P. Howden, representing the Auckland Club, Mr. McDonald ana Mr. G. X J earce irom Otahuliu, and Mr. C. E. Archibald, from • 'i'akapuna. A splendid programme was arranged: Overture, ■•Raymond," was given by the club's orchestra under the baton of Dr. Trevor de Clive Lowe. Songs were contributed by Mr. Richards, Mr. E. Snell, Mr. Thomas, Mr. Reg. Richards and Air. F. Sutherland; 'cello soio, by Dr. T. de Clive Lowe; and a Humorous sketch by Mr. A. McElwam. Accompanists were Mr. C. Moody and Mr. Leo Whittaker. The hostess, Mrs. E. Aldridge, wore a French lace rrock in biscuit colour and gold brocaded coat. Among the guests were: Mre.
