UNION OF THE CHURCHES.

THE SCOTTISH EXAMPLE

The reunion of the Scottish Churches was the subject of a sermon at St. David's Church last tvening by the Rev. D. C. Herron. He referred to it as the consummation of 20 years of unlimited effort. Only a very small section still held out. To-day the Church held no relation whatever to the State; she was quite independent. The Government representative would attend the General Assembly, but no would have no authority whatever. Mr. Herron thought the splendid example of the Scottish Churches uniting would inspire others to come together for the futheranee of the Kingdom of Christ. The influence of the union would be felt all over the world, and he saw no reason why there should' not bo more union among the Churches, as the differences were' in many instances comparatively unimportant.
