SALE OF MUNITIONS.

French Concerned At Coming Auction. "BETTER DUMPED IN SEA." (Australian ana N.Z. Press Association.) PARIS, September 27. Many of the newspapers express alarm, at the sale by auction on October 11 of munitions which belonged to the Allies in the Great War. They include 8,000,000 cartridges and 30,000' rifles. The conditions of the sale stipulate that only French buyers can purchase the munitions, but they must export them to Belgium within a year. The papers ask: "What is there to prevent the munitions finally going to Morocco, Syria or Russia? Would it not be better to dump the lot into the ocean ?"
