AMUSEMENT TAX.
THEATRES TO DANCE HALLS. (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) PARIS, September 27. The threatened closing of the theatres in Paris because of the refusal of the proprietors in April to pay the proposed municipal taxes has been obviated by a reduction by 20 per cent of the poor tax. However, the trouble has been transferred to the ever-increasing dance halls, to the taxes on which 7 per cent has been added.
