BUDGET REORGANISATION.

SUGGESTIONS GRADUALLY INTRODUCED, GIVING THINGS A TRYOUT. Dear Boys and Girls, — Two weeks have gone by since the first alterations were made in the Budget reorganisation scheme. Slowly the change must be made, but by next week it is hoped that nearly all recommendations will have been put into effect. It will be noted that the Mailbag has been cut to almost a drastic degree, and so space is now available for more news matter. Every letter is acknowledged either direct by telegram letter <or through the columns by mailbag answer or in the "From the Mailbag" Corner. Two competitions appear to-dr.y—a pain f ing for the younger onee, and a drawing competition for tlie seniors. Readers are invited to coafcrifcKte short paragraphs about anything that they may consider of interest to their fellow members. This is really an extension of "Our New Corner." There is no limit to the number of that may be sent in; the subjects may range from the proverbial needle to the anchor. All published paragraphs will be rewarded with certificates of merit varying in value according to the quality of the article. I still await suggestions from old members, who are reminded that I am most anxious to help in any way possible the formation of an old members' club, and, who knows, even put aside a small corner of the Budget for their special use. /%PS artf The next few weeks will be a_ essentially a period for trying fLJ/ f things out, so be sure to let me V^T O/S o^l^^ know what you think of the new '^^***^ arrangements. .sr

The standard of the short stories was very high this week, and exceptionally heavy entries were received. The first prize went to Ronald Sutcliffe, Crown Street, Royal Oak, with the work of Sheila Quinn, Edward Coles, Dolina Huey, Adele Castle and Doris Brown, highly commended.
