ENGINEER'S FEES.
NORTH SHORE WATER BQARD. After a long consideration in committee yesterday 'the North Shore Water Board agreed to pay an instalment of ■the fees claimed by its engineer (Mr. F. E. Powell). Atthe annual meeting of the board in 1928 it was mentioned (that the eum claimed by the engineer for his services was in the vicinity of £1000, but after a thorough examination which eliminated any percentage charges for different works not officially authorised by tthe board the total amount covering minor services was found to total £304. The 'board at its meeting- yesterday authorised payment of £174, leaving £130 to be determined toy arbitration.
