MR. JOHN SNAITH.

The death has taken place at his home I Patey Street, Renmera, of Mr. John j Snaith, who lived in Auckland fo"' nearly 70 years. Mr. Snaith was born in Leicester, England, 91 years ago, and arrived in Auckland by the ship Persia in August, 1860. He served in the militia during the war with the Maoris. Mrs. Snaith was born in Glasgow an.] also arrived in Auckland in 1860, by the ship Phoenix. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Duncan Mackenzie. Rev. Thomas Hamer, of Albert Street Independent Chapel, officiated at the wedding. Mr. and Mrs. Snaith cele-1 brated the diamond anniversary of their wedding some time ago.
