INHERITED FORTUNE.

DIED WITHIN A YEAR. ME. L. W. BROWN, OF HAMILTON. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. After inheriting a fortune of £28,000 from an uncle in England 12 months ago, following on a hard struggle to live, Mr. L. W. W. Brown, of Hamilton, died in a private hospital this morning after an operation for appendicitis. Mr. Brown, who was 59, had been actively connected with nearly every sport in Hamilton. His good fortune made little difference to him, and he still carried on a labour and land agency, which he had been running for some years. Footballers to-day wore black armlets as a mark of respect. He leaves a widow and six sons.
