"THREE LARRIKINS.
HENDERSON YOUTHS FINED. THREW RUBBISH ON PAVEMENT. "A DISGRACEFUL MESS." Three young men from Henderson, described by the police as "real larrikins," Clarence Middleton, Frank Pratt and Kenneth Roberts, were dealt with at the Police Court this morning on charges of throwing rubbish on the footpath on September 1. Middleton was further charged with giving a false alarm of fire. He denied this charge. The trio pleaded guilty to the other charges. Constable Rushton said the defendants .stood on the footpath near the Henderson Town Hall for nearly two hours on the night of Sunday, September 1, and consumed numbers of oranges, which had been stolen. "The mess made 011 the footpath was absolutely disgraceful," added the constable. "The orange peelings when gathered up filled a kerosene tin. These youths are real larrikins. Pratt has previously been before the Court for using obscene language." A domestic who was with the youths on the night gave evidence that Middleton rang the fire alarm. Mr. Dickson, who appeared for Middleton, said all three youths would swear that it was another boy who gave the false alarm of lire. This boy would appear on such a chargb at the Children's Court to-morrow. Mr. Hunt, S.M., dismissed the second charge against Middleton. For throwing rubbish, Middleton and Pratt were each lined £2 and costs, and Roberts £1 and costs. "They will find it cheaper to stay at home and learn music or something that will do them good," concluded the magistrate.
