FLAG CUP ESSAY.

BELMONT'S THIRt) SUCCESS. BOY WINS GOLD MEDAL. Belmont school lias recorded its third success in the annual essay competitions for the Hag Cup. The winning essay was written by Glynn Roberts, a boy in Standard vi., who will be presented with a gold medal by the Auckland Education Board. The cup is a trophy open for competition by Standard vi. pupils of the Auckland district, and has been in. existence since 1922, when it was presented by Mr. R. G. Cox, an ex-Terri-torial officer, to encourage children to take a greater interest in subjects of a patriotic nature. This year the subject chosen was "The Flag in New Zealand."
