Mr. and Mrs. A. Liston Wilson, Remuera, left for Sydney this morning. Mr. R. Eagleton, of Auckland, left this morning on a visit to Australia. Mr. 11. E. Olds, Mr. F."J. Duke (Christchurch), and Mr. W. A. Simpson (Wellington) are at Hotel Cargen. Mr. R. McKenzie, a director of the New Zealand Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., is in Auckland at the Commercial Hotel, i Mr. and Mrs. W. Garrett, of Remuera, Auckland, were passengers by the Maheno this morning for Australia. The Rev. G. Budd, secretary of the Presbyterian Homo Mission, who has been on an extended tour of the South, returned to Auckland this morning. Dr. Ada Patcrson, of the Child Welfare section of the Health Department, was a passenger to Auckland by the Limited this morning. Mr. Percy Alexander Spurdle was to-day admitted as a barrister of the Supreme Court by Mr. Justice Smith, on the motion of Mr. Nutsford, Mr. Percy B. Lomax, a New Zealander, now resident in Australia, arrived in Auckland this week with liis wife and daughter on a business and pleasure tour of the Dominion. Royal Hotel guests include Mr. A. E. Marshall (Wellington), Mr. A. J. Sinclair (Te Awamutu), Mr. H. Bate (Napier), Mr. T. 11. Wilson, Mr. L. Mclvor (Waipawa). Wing-Commander Grant Dalton will take up the position of Director of Air Services on Tuesday, October 1. Major L. M. Isitt has been filling the position temporarily. Messrs. E. Aldridge (Mayor), J. Hislop (deputy-Mayor) and C. M. Browne, representing the Devonport Borough Council, this morning paid a courtesy call to Commodore Blake on H.M.s. Dunedin. Mr. P. G. Roussell, general superintendent of transportation, Mr. E. T. L. Spidy, superintendent of workshops, and Mr. W. R. Davidson, assistant-chief engineer of the New Zealand railways, arrived in Auckland this morning from Wellington. Mr. George Baildon, the Mayor of Auckland, returned by the Limited this morning after attending a meeting of the central committee for the distribution of relief to sufferers in the recent earthquake. While in Wellington the Mayor, on behalf of the City Council, attended to various matters which needed negotiations with representatives of the Government.
